Some people get immediate relief and feel better all over by taking a warm sitz bath several times a day. Others are able to reduce swelling in the anal area by applying ice packs for several minutes at a time. You might be able to eliminate some of not all of the pain by applying a medicated cream or gel or by simply applying plain petroleum jelly to the effected area. Some people have found that cotton underwear is much easier on the inflamed anal tissues than synthetic underwear. Also, they claim that loose fitting clothing prevents further irritation to the area.

If self-care methods do no work for you, then there are some other options available for you. The first thing you need to do is make an appointment with your physician or other health care provider. He or she will thoroughly evaluate your medical condition and may recommend some type of medical procedure to eliminate your hemorrhoids. The options that might be recommended are: Rubber Band Ligation (which involves wrapping a rubber band around the base of the internal hemorrhoid), Injection Sclerotherapy (which involves injecting a specific medical solution into the mucus membrane near the hemorrhoid), Infrared Photcoagulation (which involves directing an infrared light to coagulate the veins inside the hemorrhoid), Laser Coagulation (which uses electrical current to shrink the hemorrhoid), and Hemorrhoidectomy (which is the surgical removal of the hemorrhoid).

There is a hemorrhoids cure that might just possibly be the ticket for you to be pain free in just a matter of hours. All of the self-help cures are certainly worth a try before submitting yourself to the more expensive procedures that require a doctor’s intervention.
